Keith Duffy: Boyzone star hospitalised with virus in Thailand as band perform without him

The singer, 44, was taken to hospital on the advice of a local medical team, a statement on Boyzone’s Twitter account told their 85,000 followers. “Our brother will be back on his feet as soon as possible and we thank you for all your wonderful support in the meantime,” they said. The picture attached to the post showed Keith Duffy’s bandmates Ronan Keating, 42, Mikey Graham, 46, and Shane Lynch, 42, singing on-stage without him. A representative for Boyzone told Express.co.uk Keith has been hospitalised after coming down with a virus but that he will be back in time for their next tour date.

“He’s come down with a virus so is being kept overnight in hospital here in Bangkok to be on the safe side and will join the Boyz in Australia in time for the next gig in Perth,”(sic) they said.

Keith appeared to be in high spirits in recent days, sharing updates on the tour with his 107,000 followers on Instagram.

Earlier less than two days ago, he shared a video which showed him walking through the airport after touching down in Bangkok, having flown from their previous appearance in Hong Kong.

“Arrived in Bangkok, going through security,” he said. “Everybody’s a little bit tired. Partied too much in Hong Kong and I don’t think it’s going to be any different in Bangkok!”

Keith also added the hashtags: “#sorehead #thankyouandgoodnight #bz2019 #thailand.”

Boyzone’s Thank You and Goodnight tour is their farewell to their fans all over the world, previously seeing them performing English, Scotland and Wales before heading to Australia, New Zealand and now Asia.
