Russia would be ‘BETTER OFF’ with Hillary Clinton as President claims Trump on Fox News

His blistering intervention comes just days after the President was cleared of any collusion with Russia during the 2016 Presidential Election in the Mueller report. The President claimed Mrs Clinton would not have allowed further drilling for gas and oil, reducing the competition for Russia. Trump told the host: “They would have been much better off with Hillary Clinton as President.”

The President said Russia were “for and against” both him and Mrs Clinton, but that they would “rather” have had her.

He said: “Russia if they were all for me – and by the way, if you look at the all the things were for and against both, not one way – but just if you look at all of the different things, Russia would much rather have Hillary than Donald Trump, I can tell you that much.”

Trump was speaking to Mr Hannity on the subject of the Mueller report, which he triumphantly claimed on Twitter meant: “No collusion, no obstruction, complete and total exoneration.”

In the interview he branded the investigation “treasonous” and an “illegal takeover”.

He also took the opportunity to attack the “fake news media” again, particularly CNN.

He also claimed to be “tougher” on Russia than anyone else.

Meanwhile, former FBI Director James Comey said on NBC’s Nightly News with Lester Holt that Donald Trump has “potentially” committed obstruction of justice by firing him.

This is because after he fired Mr Comey, Trump said on the same TV show: “When I decided to just do it, I said to myself: this Russia thing, with Trump and Russia is a made up story.”

Mr Comey said last night: “The President appears to be saying – I don’t know what’s in his head which is why I can’t reach the conclusion – but what he appears to be saying is ‘I got rid of this guy to shut down an investigation that threatened me.”

He added: “I thought that’s potentially obstruction of justice and I hope someone is going to look at that.”
