Kevin Clifton: Strictly Come Dancing star’s sister reveals pro's BIG new move

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Joanne Clifton, 35, has revealed she and Kevin Clifton, 36, are set to present an Olivier award together at the ceremony next month. Joanne expressed her excitement about their role in view of her 103,000 followers yesterday. She shared a news article about the upcoming event with the caption: “Can’t believe me and my bro are presenting an award!!!! #OlivierAwards.” Many of her fans flocked to her page to comment.

One user commented: “This year presenting, next year collecting.”

A second added: “Recognition! So pleased for you both.”

A third penned: “You should both be receiving an award!!! …not presenting them!!!

The dance siblings will be joined by the likes of Danny Dyer, 41, and Tom Hiddleston, 38, at the event in April.

Last year, Kevin followed in his sister’s footsteps by winning Strictly Come Dancing with Stacey Dooley, 32.

Despite his love for performing, Kevin recently admitted he was falling out of love for dancing before his time on the show.

The dancer will be touring with Burn The Floor across the UK later this year, which he credits for bringing his passion for dancing back.

He told OK! Magazine: “It’s storytelling rather than just performing, and so it becomes all about relationships between the dancers.

“I find that so exciting. If it wasn’t for Burn The Floor, I don’t think I’d be a dancer today.”

He added: “When I stopped competing in ballroom I was falling out of love with dancing, but this show reignited my passion.”

The professional dancer joined Strictly in 2013 and won the Glitterball trophy last year.

Despite winning the show for the first time, Kevin didn’t join Stacey on the show’s nationwide tour due to his commitments with the Rock Of Ages.

Instead, the BBC documentary maker danced alongside Aljaž Škorjanec, 29.

Kevin previously admitted he was jealous that Stacey was dancing with another pro, especially when the new pair earned themselves a 10 from all four judges.

Kevin told Chris Evans, 52, on his Virgin Radio Breakfast show: “I went to watch the Strictly tour and it was brilliant but they did the Paso Doble and the thing is we never got a 10 from Craig Revel Horwood on the show… we did from the other three judges.

“They danced the Paso that me and Stacey did, which was sort of her best dance and Craig gave them a 10.

“I was really pleased for her but I was heartbroken at the same time watching her and Aljaž.”
