Louise Redknapp smiles as she is pictured leaving theatre following 9 to 5 debut

Louise Redknapp made her debut at the Savoy theatre last night after postponing her appearance in Dolly’s Parton’s new musical following a nasty fall at the start of the year.

The 44-year-old singer took to the stage in London’s West End to play the role of Violet Newstead in 9 to 5: The Musical.

The mother-of-two, who divorced her husband Jamie Redknapp following 19 years of marriage in 2017, will star in the show until June.

She was pictured leaving the theatre last night with a huge grin on her face following her long-awaited first performance.

Louise, who is returning to her singing routes and releasing new music this week, looked radiant as she greeted waiting well-wishers and smiled for the photographers.

The former Eternal star looked effortlessly cool in a black jumper and grey denim jeans teamed with a pair of over-the-knee boots and a green camouflage coat.

She wore her hair in big bouncy waves and added gold-hooped earrings to her ensemble.

The former Strictly contestant was handed a beautiful bouquet of flowers as she left the theatre with her fellow cast members Amber Davies and Bonnie Langford.

Louise’s new track Stretch will be played on the radio for the first time today.

She wrote on Instagram yesterday ahead of the release: “So… after 16 years away from music I am so excited to reveal details of my new album ‘Heavy Love’, which you can pre-order now. The exclusive first play of the first song from the album ‘Stretch’ is on Radio2 Breakfast show tomorrow morning after 8am.”

She added, “I can’t wait to share this new music with you all! Thanks for all the support over the last 26 years! It’s good to be back! Love Lou xxx.”
