James Bond 25: ‘They’re trying to figure out the storyline’ Ben Whishaw gives UPDATE

Weeks after Ralph Fiennes admitted he had yet to see a script for the film, which allegedly begins filming next month, Whishaw has said he too remains in the dark about what the new caper will entail. Daniel Craig returns as 007 in the movie, ostensibly for the final time. But what will his iteration of James Bond get up to?

Whishaw told the Sunday Times: “I think they’re probably trying to figure out what to do with the storyline.

“At least I know that my character is the same.”

“Someone did tell me there might be a scene with Q’s cats.”

Whishaw first played Q in 2012’s Skyfall, before returning for Spectre in 2015.

Fiennes, who portrays the latest version of M, said earlier this month: “I can’t tell you much. There’s as much security around a Bond production as there is in MI6.

“I don’t know the name of the film, I haven’t had access to a screenplay yet.

“I do know they intend to film it later this year.”

Speaking to BBC’s Newsnight, he added: “I have been affectionately nudging [exec producer] Barbara Broccoli to send me a screenplay and I’m told it will be coming soon, and I know that Daniel [Craig] is playing Bond.

“Honestly, I’m not being coy – I don’t know when it starts or what the story is.”

Cary Joji Fukunaga is directing Bond 25, which does not have a title at this stage.

Barbara Broccoli recently appeared to rule out the rumoured working title of Shatterhand.

Bond 25 is out on April 8, 2019.
