Shocking new series Delhi Crime premiered on Netflix yesterday (March 22). The series follows the aftermath of the 2012 Delhi gang rape, also known as the Nirbhaya case. All seven episodes are available to watch now and a second season has already been commissioned.
Will there be another series of Delhi Crime?
Yes – Netflix ordered two seasons of Delhi Crime back when season one was announced.
The series will now take an anthology format, with season two following a different case.
The first season of Delhi Crime is based on the December 2012 investigation by the Delhi Police into the brutal and horrific gang rape of a young woman, which shocked India and the world.
Creator Riche Mehta told Indian Express: “There is going to be a next season. Same characters, different crime.”
The series follows a similar format to Ryan Murphy’s American Crime Story, which follows a different high profile crime each season.

At the moment there is no word on when season two could potentially be released.
The release date will more than likely be in 2020.
Netflix ordered both seasons in one go so it is thought that production for the second outing will get underway soon.

Series creators have yet to announce what case will be the focus of season two.
However, The Indian Express reports that Shefali Shah will reprise her role as Detective Vartika Chaturvedi.
Mehta told Deadline: “The making of Delhi Crime has been a personally transformative journey; speaking to every individual involved, retracing the paths that the police took during the course of the investigation, and hearing of the determination that it took for the case to be closed, despite severe limitations.
“I hope that we’ve been able to provide context, catharsis and open once again a difficult conversation that must be had about the forces that enabled this brutality.”

Is there a trailer for Delhi Crime season 2?
There is no trailer for season two yet as season one was just released on the streaming site yesterday.
