Weight loss diet: Woman reveals the diet plan she used to shed 11st of fat – how?

Posting her transformation on Reddit, user “aprilnicholem” shared how she changed her lifestyle and shifted a remarkable 159lb (11st 5lb).

To make the change, she explained how she followed a ketogenic, or keto diet, which meant she tucked into low-carb high-fat foods.

She shared photos of her before and after losing weight, and also revealed she is 30-years-old, 5ft 7in and has dropped from her starting weight of 350lb (25st) by 159lb (11st 5lb) to get to a much trimmer 191lbs (13st 9lb).

Incredibly, she shared that she managed to cut the pounds without losing much muscle and mostly shed fat instead.

Followers of the diet are encouraged to cut the carbs, which means even some fruits and vegetables should be eaten with caution.

On Reddit, “Aprilnicholem” said: “I went cold turkey, gave in to carbs the next day, then fully committed the very next day with no regrets.

“I will incorporate some more carby vegetables and more fruit once I’m in maintenance so some days will be more low-carb.”

During her transformation, she has slimmed down from a US size 22/24 (UK 26/28) to a size 10/12 (UK 14/16).

Posting online, she explained how she also added in strength training to help loose weight more quickly.

What is the keto diet and what can you eat?

The keto diet requires eating less than 50 grams of carbs a day to put dieters body into a state called ketosis, which is then meant to encourage your body to burn more fat.

Slimmers who opt for the keto diet will usually cut back on carby foods and instead fill up on meat, fish, eggs, vegetables and natural fats such as butter or olive oil.

High-fat foods are preferred, so it is good to opt for fatty fish like salmon to get increase your intake of fat.

Drizzling olive oil on salads and cooking in butter or coconut oil will also up your fat intake.
