April the giraffe is now preparing to give birth, following a 15-month long pregnancy. She will be giving birth to her fifth calf any minute now, watched by potentially millions of people. Some 150,000 people have already flocked to the live stream to watch the giraffe give birth. Glimpses of a small giraffe’s feet are now visible, and it seems April is delivering.

April has her YouTube live stream online, directly from her barn at the Animal Adventure Park in New York.
The park has sent out a text alert to people who have signed up, informing people April is now in labour.
People have already taken to the live chat built into the video to voice their congratulations for the giraffe.
One user said: “Wow, that happened fast, resting and jumped up with little feet showing.
“Hope the rest of delivery as fast and a healthy baby.
“Way to go momma.”
Another said: “This is truly a miracle. Thank you @animaladventurepark for this amazing experience!”
Animal Adventure Park has been keeping a keen eye on April as she prepared for her birth.
The posted an update to Facebook as April began to show the signs of labour.
The update read: “1:00 am eastern (5am GMT) April began to spend much more time cleaning and stimulating her back end.
“The behaviour continues at this time.
“Significant discharge is present until cleaned, and that cycle continues.”
Doctors say once hooves show up, the birth should take up to two hours, but could take much longer.
The update continued: “Keep April, Dr Tim, and our Team in your thoughts as we navigate the coming hours, maybe day, perhaps longer, as we approach what would suggest the arrival of a new calf.
“Another April Curveball? Stay tuned!”
