How Melania Trump planned her WEDDING to Donald Trump – ‘It was FANTASTIC’

The First Lady, 48, and US President Donald Trump, 72, are one of the most famous couples in the world. The two have been together for more than 20 years and have one son together, Barron Trump. Their first meeting was in 1998 at a nightclub in New York City when she was aged 28 and he was 52, giving them an age gap of 24 years.

President Trump reportedly saw the former model and was instantly attracted to her, pursuing her on the night and trying to get her number.

In April 2004, after dating Melania on and off for more than five years, Mr Trump proposed to her with a 15-carat, $1.5 million (£1,149,866) diamond ring.

They got married the following year.

During an interview with ABC News in November 2005, Melania revealed she actually planned the ceremony and had a “great time” doing it.

She told TV host Larry King: “It was fantastic.

“We had the greatest time.”

The presenter then asked her if she was nervous on her big day, to which she immediately answered: “No, not all all.

“We have the greatest relationship and we know what kind of relationship we have.

“I don’t think I should be scared of anything. “

The evening ceremony took place at Bethesda-by-the-Sea, an Episcopal church in Palm Beach, Florida.

An extravagant reception followed inside the newly renovated, Versailles-inspired ballroom at Mar-a-Lago, with marble floors, 24-karat gold mouldings and custom-made crystal chandeliers.

Billy Joel and Tony Bennett sang at the reception.

Guests reportedly dined on caviar and crystal champagne, which “flowed like water”.
