Carol Vorderman Twitter: ‘I’ve sent my application’ Countdown star spills on ‘new venture'

The article reported that NASA boss Jim Bridenstine said the first person to walk on the planet is “likely to be” female in a discussion on the Science Friday radio show. Carol Vorderman, 58, shared the article in view of her 392,000 followers, flippantly revealing she had sent an application for the venture. She commented: “I’ve sent my application in already @NASA… #MarsHereICome…lol #BornTooEarly but HAPPY.” Many of her social media fans flocked to her page to comment on her post.

One user wrote: “We can’t let you go Carol, coz there’s no way back.”

A second added: “And you are just the right lady for the job.”

A third commented: “I would love to see you go and work for NASA.”

Carol, who previously dated an astronaut, recently revealed she would love to be the first person to have sex in space.

The presenter’s candid admission happened during a chat on Loose Women back in December.

She told the show’s panelists: “I would like to go to space and do naughty things in space.”

Panelist Nadia Sawalha interjected saying: “Basically she wants to be the first person to have sex in space!”

Carol swiftly responded saying: “Not by myself!”

Back in May, she asked her Twitter fans to show her more respect following a task she completed at NASA.

The former maths whizz was acknowledged by the acclaimed American space agency after completing a task with Dr. Colleen Hartman.

She wrote on Twitter: “Er hello… I think I might demand more respect from you lot in future.

“Due to making it onto the @NASA website. They’ve seen spelt my name right. Goddamn they’re clever.”

One confused Twitter user, asked: “What on earth for? Has someone nominated you for first woman on Mars?”

Carol replied: “For leaping up and down with my best friend, who is the NASA Director of Science and Space Exploration. She’s pretty amazing.”

A picture of Carol and Dr. Colleen jumping in the air was later uploaded to the official NASA website.

Countdown airs weekdays on Channel 4 from 2.10pm.
