Fortnite DOWNTIME: Server maintenance times, update 8.10 release and patch notes news

Epic Games will be releasing Fortnite update 8.10 tomorrow, following scheduled downtime.

Servers will be taken offline at around 9am, GMT, leaving fans unable to play online games.

This will be followed by a maintenance period which will see new patch notes released by Epic Games.

These will contain all the major changes being made to the game, including new content and bugfixes.

“The v8.10 update rolls out tomorrow, March 12! Downtime begins at 5 AM ET (0900 UTC),” a message from Epic Games confirms.

We haven’t been told how long tomorrow’s server disruption will last, but it usually takes at least an hour.

The good news is that while fans won’t be able to play on the Fortnite servers, they will be able to read the full patch notes.

Epic Games will share this just past 9am in the UK, and they will contain all the best stuff when it comes to 8.10 update.

FORTNITE UPDATE 8.10

When it comes to big new additions to the game, it will be hard to beat the Baller vehicle.

This new mode of transportation will no doubt change things up a little, especially if they are used going while going downhill.

No information on how much damage they can take or other limitations have been shared yet, but they should all be listed in the official patch notes.

“Round and Round We Go,” read the in-game description for the Baller. “Roll through the competition with the newest vehicle, The Baller!”

According to the Fortnite Trello board, the studio is close to fixing a problem with players being launched far distances when riding a Driftboard.

Epic is also working on a fix for mouse sensitivity while playing on PS4, as well as a problem with the audio indicator not appearing for Driftboard.

Other issues are also being investigated, although fixes aren’t expected in update 8.1.0.

The other good news is that while the Baller is being added tomorrow, Epic Games will not be replacing it with an existing item.

The Driftboard will remain in place even with the launch of the Baller, adding to the ways players can get around the map.

The boarding vehicle was only expected to be a limited time item but appears to be sticking around due to positive fan feedback.
