Saturday Kitchen: Matt Tebbutt berates Anita Rani as she ‘gives away’ show secret

Anita was appearing as a guest on today’s instalment of the BBC show when the moment occurred.

It came as Matt prepared a seafood pie while chatting to Anita about her Kilimanjaro climb in aid of Comic Relief.

As Matt put the lattice pastry top on the pie, Anita made an observation.

“You’ve just done that so quickly. It would take me all day,” she told the host.

But Matt revealed there was a good reason for that, as he said: “That’s because we’ve got a team of home ecs behind the scenes helping us out.”

Anita then declared: “Hooray for the home ecs!”

“Hooray for the actual cooks!” she exclaimed.

“Alright, don’t give it away,” Matt replied, but it was clear it was all good-natured fun between them.

Anita loved the seafood pie that Matt and the home ecs had helped put together, but she did have one admission to make.

“Absolutely delicious, but I’ve burnt my mouth,” Anita informed.

Matt then laughed: “So you’ve ruined the the rest of the show.”

“Sorry about that,” Anita retorted.

As today’s celebrity guest, Anita got to pick out her food heaven and food hell as viewers voted for one of them to be cooked for her at the end of the show.

For her idea of “heaven”, Anita picked out a noodle soup.

However, some viewers were surprised by what Anita’s idea of a food “hell” was.

Anita had picked out roast lamb, as well as quiche, for something she wouldn’t be too thrilled to eat and some of those at home were stunned.

“Who chooses roast lamb for their food hell? What the heck?? #SaturdayKitchen,” one questioned.

A second opined: “#saturdaykitchen sorry anita lamb is my fave.”

“Sorry just love lamb,” a third added.

Saturday Kitchen airs Saturdays at 10am on BBC One.
