While there may be some exceptions, encountering an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend is something many people dread. Inviting former flames to your wedding doesn’t tend to be commonplace, however, that’s not to say it doesn’t happen. For those who have remained friends or run in similar social circles, having your ex at your nuptials may seem appropriate. And, it’s certainly not uncommon for some members of the Royal Family to invite their former partners to their wedding.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, for instance, extended an invitation to two of the Duke of Sussex’s former girlfriends for their wedding last year.
Cressida Bonas and Chelsy Davy have both dated the Prince in the past, and after parting ways romantically, both women clearly remain on good terms with him – watching him say, ‘I do’ to his now-wife Meghan in May 2018.
But, what will happen at the impending Royal Wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor?
The 37-year-old freelance writer is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.
Her father is a cousin of Queen Elizabeth II, making Lady Gabriella 51st in line to the succession of the British throne.
On May 18 this year, she will marry financier Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.
It’s not clear where the two met.
However, it seems that Thomas is familiar with the royal social circle.
That’s because, according to reports, he’s previously been linked to Natalie Hicks-Lobbecke – one of Prince William’s ex-girlfriends.
What’s more, in 2011, he and Pippa Middleton, the younger sister of Kate Middleton, are thought to have been an item.
So, will happily-married Pippa, 35, attend the upcoming nuptials?
The exact answer is unknown, however it looks doesn’t look like the most unlikely of events.
That’s because in 2017, Lady Gabriella and Thomas attended the wedding of Pippa and her now-spouse James Matthews.
Therefore, it’s possible that the happy couple may invite the pair to their own nuptials too.
Lady Gabriella could be set to wear a stunning piece of jewellery on her wedding day.
It may be that the bride wears the City of London tiara on the special occasion.
