ITV GMB: ‘Incredibly annoying’ Piers Morgan threatens to LEAVE show as he slams producers

Piers Morgan, 53, was joined by his Good Morning Britain co-host Susanna Reid, 48, to present the ITV news show and things got quite heated shortly after the programme began this morning.

With the ITV news show running nine minutes behind schedule, Piers addressed the issue he was facing with his ear-piece, as he told viewers producers were telling him to hurry along in order to re-sync the schedule.

However, Piers was less than impressed by the orders he was receiving, leading him to rip out his ear-piece as he told producers exactly what he thought of them.

Although Susanna tried to defend the work of the crew in the gallery, Piers stated he would leave the show and crossover to the BBC where his co-host was formally a presenter.

As he got increasingly frustrated, Piers mocked the producers, remarking: “They’re screaming in my ear: ‘We are nine minutes over! We are nine minutes over! Come on, we are nine minutes over – what are you going to do about it?'”

Enraged by the comments coming through on the wire, Piers said: “Here’s what I am going to do about it,” before ripping out his ear-piece in protest.

“I can’t hear them, and there’s quiet in my ear. No-one barking away going ‘nine minutes over!’” the presenter admitted after withdrawing his ear-piece.

Continuing his outburst, Piers exclaimed: “We have two hours left, it doesn’t matter that we are ten minutes over – over what?!

“They’re like parrots in my ear,” the host added before producers took action, replacing Piers and Susanna with a technical error as the presenter continued to rant.

Returning to the screen, Piers hadn’t learnt his lesson as he continued to comment on the earlier altercation with producers.

“It is incredibly annoying, that’s what the public can’t hear – they can’t hear these people yapping in our ears all of the time,” he said.

“The admiration for what we do despite the barking and yapping would be extraordinary,” before Susanna jumped in to defend the producers of the show.

The host said: “Can I just say, we couldn’t do it without everyone in the gallery,” with Piers commenting he didn’t need the assistance or guidance from the crew.

Piers claimed: “I could just go and work somewhere else and literally do it without them,” before hinting he would leave the show.

“I would go to the BBC and revive their dormant morning show that nobody watches any more, and I’d literally be doing it without them.”
