Former Melania Trump aide SPEAKS OUT after she was FIRED by White House over fee

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff was fired after the eye-watering fee that was paid to her company to organise the Trump’s inauguration was revealed. According to reports, Ms Winston Wolkoff made £19.6milion ($26million) to plan and organise the event. Melania’s aide has insisted that she was only paid £1.2million ($1.62million) while also remaining strong in the belief that she did “everything as it should have been done”.

Speaking to Page Six, Ms Winston Wolkoff said: “I think there were headlines heard around the world that were totally misleading.

“All I will say about that is that I stand true to myself as I am and as I have always been.

“I am proud of the work that I did on the inauguration — extremely proud — and as I have always done, I do everything the way it’s supposed to be done, and I stand tall, whatever comes may come.”

Trump’s inauguration ceremony and celebrations raised a record $107million (£76million) from wealthy donors and corporations.

The event was also criticised for the relatively small $5million (£3.7million) of the overall amount that was sent to charities.

At the time of her dismissal, Ms Winston Wolkoff defended her work and refuted the claim that she was fired due to the huge payment.

She said: “I was informed by the White House counsel’s office that all gratuitous volunteer contracts were ended.

“I expect to remain a trusted source for advice and support on an informal basis.”

Melania’s spokeswoman was also confronted last weekend over how the First Lady balances her ‘Be Best’ campaign against the way Trump conducts himself against others.

Stephanie Grisham, was challenged on CNN over how her core anti-bullying principles match up to the confrontational way her husband acts at times.

Known for his fiery speeches and Twitter tirades, Ms Grisham denied that the two were related.

She said: “I think that honestly one thing doesn’t really have anything to do with the other.

“And she is focussed on helping children.”
