Standing with her co-host, Matt Baker, the 41-year-old said: “Bit of news before we go, now I’ve not been on the mince pies, there is a little baby, look.”

She immediately turned sideways and rubbed her tummy as Matt and the studio erupted into cries of “yeah” and lots of clapping.

Most mothers tend to share their good news when they have reached 12 weeks, which when the foetus is fully formed.

On that basis, assuming Alex was 12 weeks in December then full months pregnancy would take her to June.
