Roman Reigns: WWE star may share positive news on RAW about leukaemia battle

Reigns will return to RAW at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia to provide the WWE Universe with an update regarding his fight with the terrible illness.

The Big Dog shocked wrestling fans around the world last October when he revealed he first dealt with the horrible illness almost 11 years ago.

The four-time world champion added that after quickly putting it in remission the cancer unfortunately returned recently.

The ex-WWE Champion then relinquished the Universal Championship and took time off for treatment.

During his hiatus the WWE Grand Slam Winner has been keeping himself busy as he landed a guest star role in Nickelodeon’s Cousins For Life and will also make a cameo appearance in the Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs & Shaw starring his cousin and fellow WWE hero Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.

According to WrestleVotes, Reigns may now be set to share some positive news ahead of tonight’s announcement that is being kept under wraps from everyone.

WrestleVotes tweeted ahead of RAW, which will also celebrate Hall of Famer Ric Flair’s 70th birthday: “Big RAW tonight from ATL. The Flair angle has been in the works for weeks now, so it should come off well. As for Roman Reigns, I’m expecting positive news. I have a feeling which way his announcement is going, but it’s something “that’s being kept from nearly everyone.””

Reigns is confident he will beat leukaemia again and return to the ring stronger and better than ever.

The former Universal Champion is determined to prove to the world, especially to his family and friends, that he can overcome every obstacle that life throws against him.

He said four months ago: “The reality is my real name is Joe [Anoaʻi] and I’d been living with leukaemia for 11 years… And unfortunately it’s back.

“And because the leukaemia is back, I cannot fulfil my role. I can’t be that fighting champion and I’m going to have to relinquish the Universal Championship.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ll take every prayer you can send my way but I’m not looking for sympathy.

“I’m not looking for you to feel bad for me because I have faith.

“When I was 22 years old I was diagnosed with this and very quickly I was able to put it in remission. But I’m not going to lie, that was the hardest time of my life.

“I didn’t have a job, I didn’t have any money, I didn’t have a home and I had a baby on the way. And football was done with me.

“But do you know who gave me a chance? The team that gave me a chance was the WWE.

“After I’m done whooping leukaemia’s a*s once again, I’m coming back home.

“I want to show my family, my friends, my children and my wife that when life throws a curveball at me, I am the type of man that will stand in that batter’s box, I will crowd the plate, I will choke up and I will swing for the fences every single time!”

The Big Dog rose to prominence as part of the legendary Shield stable.

The wrestling hero teamed up with Seth Rollins as well as Dean Ambrose and dominated WWE.

Together they took out some of WWE’s biggest legends like John Cena, The Undertaker and CM Punk.

After taking their separate ways they all became world champions.
