Lucy Verasamy Twitter: ITV weather star talks ‘struggles’ as she says ‘I don’t do shots’

Lucy Verasmay, 38, took to Twitter to vent her frustrations as she admitted weather apps don’t provide the correct temperatures. In view of her 161,000 followers, she mused: “You’ll notice weather apps have temperatures too low again today. “Automated data struggles in some scenarios, this being one of them.” Fans questioned the ITV favourite as one person asked: “What would you say is the best weather app?”

The brunette beauty cheekily quipped: “A human – ideally a weather forecaster.”

To which another social media user queried: “Why is that?”

Lucy replied to the tweet and wrote: “In this case, computer generated weather scenarios underestimating the strength of the sun as we approach spring.”

This comes after the ITV star made a surprising admission on the micro-blogging site about not doing shots, after a social media user made a cheeky swipe.

She let her followers know she would be watching the boxing match between James Degale and Chris Eubanks Jr last week.

The weather presenter tweeted: “Knockout day today and this tonight,” in reference to the fight.

A Twitter user joked: “Is that degale warning from de weather forecaster?”(sic)

Lucy hit back: “Everytime you hear a weather reference, have another slice of pizza (I don’t do shots).”

Meanwhile, in her latest forecast, Lucy noted “spring like” weather but temperatures are set to dip as we head into the evening reminding us it is still winter.

She said: “Temperatures have certainly been a talking point and little change into a new week.

“We’ve seen Scotland have their warmest February day on record, Wales join the club.

“We keep the warm sunny days but freezing frosty, foggy nights.”

She continued: “A slow steady start here [in the North West] with the misty low cloud and the fog slow to shift.

“For the rest of us, brilliant blue sky and warm feeling sunshine once more. Feeling notably spring like again come the afternoon.

“Temperatures miles above average we could see highs of in excess of 17 possibly 18 degrees Celsius.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6.30am on ITV.
