Coronation Street cast: ‘Don’t tell anyone’ Tina O'Brien urges after Platt set picture

Tina O’Brien, who has played Coronation Street’s Sarah Platt on-and-off since 1999, revealed a set secret on Instagram last week. The actress shared a picture while shooting for the long-running ITV soap, telling her 386,000 followers: “Don’t tell anyone.” The 35-year-old was not in the upload however it implicated her on-screen family and stated things weren’t as authentic as you might think. She shared a shot of the Platt’s kitchen and focussed in on the bread bin.

Inside there was nothing edible at all and instead there were piles of papers stacked haphazardly.

“Don’t expect to find any bread in the Platt’s bread bin,” Tina quipped on the picture-sharing app.

She continued: “We sometimes need a place to hide our scripts, don’t tell anyone.”

Her character lives at the property with mother Gail (Helen Worth), brother David (Jack P. Shepherd), niece Lily (Brooke Malonie) and his girlfriend Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding).

Just hours later, Tina gave fans another update, this time focusing in on her own home life with husband Adam Crofts.

She wrote: “When mummy isn’t around… Daddy @adamcrofts invents some extreme go-karting games for our four-year-old Beau and two-year-old working cocker.

“(Again no animals or children were injured in the making of this video).”

Her youngest was seen racing along the road with their pet pooch before crashing and coming to a swift halt.

Tina is also mother to Scarlett, 10, from her relationship with former co-star Ryan Thomas.

Meanwhile, she previously came clean about the moment she “lost it” prior to her wedding to Adam back in December.

The star confessed all about her “bridezilla” moment in the lead up to marrying her partner of eight years.

She said she had tell herself to “get over myself” when it came to her “yelling” about wedding favours.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, Tina and her spouse chatted candidly about their big day, which was held on December 31.

When asked if there was a moment it all became too much, Tina replied: “Corrie said I hadn’t had a bridezilla moment. So I will take that! But that’s a lie.

“When I was organising the favours for the tables, I did lose it. Adam’s mum made little bottles of drinks – there was Christmas pudding vodka, orangecello and plum brandy. I wanted the labels to be a berry colour but on my computer screen they looked purple.”

Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
