Olivia Colman: The Favourite actress wows in glamorous frock at Oscars 2019

Olivia Colman, 45, is hotly tipped to win an Academy Award tonight at the Oscars 2019.

The talented English actress, who is hoping to bring home the coveted Best Actress Award for her portrayal of Queen Anne in royal drama The Favourite, wore a green number for biggest night in Hollywood at the 91st Academy Awards.

The British star, who shot to fame on the Channel 4’s Peep show, chose a high-neck forest green dress with a unique sheer piece of fabric with beaded details which draped across her body and fell to the floor creating a long train.

Olivia, who has already won a BAFTA and a Golden Globe this award season, walked the red carpet with her husband Ed Sinclair, who looked smart in a classic tuxedo.

The Favourite has a total of ten nominations at tonight’s prestigious award ceremony including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress for both of her co-stars Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz.

Olivia is in the running for the Best Actress accolade along with Glenn Close for The Wife, Melissa McCarthy for Can You Ever Forgive Me?, Lady Gaga for A Star Is Born and Yalitza Aparicio for Roma.

Not content with playing one English Queen, the British star is currently filming scenes for Netflix drama The Crown and will be back on our TV screens shortly after taking over from Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth II for the third season of the popular royal show.
