Bohemian Rhapsody Oscars: Queen performance leaves fans FUMING – for THIS reason

The band – complete with Adam Lambert on lead vocals – rocked the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles as this year’s telecast kicked off. But while fans heaped praise on the group’s quick appearance, and Lambert’s name quickly began trending on Twitter, many were unimpressed by one thing: the length. Did the much-hyped performance not last long enough?

One person wrote on Twitter: “Only part of Oscars I intended to watch. At least 10 minutes too short. #Queen #AdamLambert”.

Said another: “I enjoyed Queen’s performance. My only complaint is that it was too short #Oscars.”

A third posted: “Great performance by @QueenWillRock on #Oscar2019 —way too short though! Need more!!”

“That was way too short. #Queen #Oscars19 #TheOscars,” read yet another tweet.

Someone else suggested: “I need a little more Queen at the #Oscars2019 that wasn’t long enough…maybe a little “Keep Yourself Alive” would be nice.”

The performance came amid a sea of hype for Bohemian Rhapsody, which has broken box office records since its release last year.

Rami Malek, who plays the late Freddie Mercury, is considered a lock for Best Actor.

The film itself is something of a dark horse for Best Picture, with its odds consistently being slashed.

Express.co.uk has learned from leading bookies Ladbrokes that – of all the Academy Awards betting markets – it’s Bohemian Rhapsody’s Best Picture odds that have been slashed the most.

A spokesperson told us: “Following its (and Malek’s) success over the last few weeks, we’re trimming the odds on it more than anything else as far as I’m aware.

“If there was to be an upset, that may well be it.”

Currently the film has 16/1 odds of taking the prize, in contrast to being a 33/1 long-shot just weeks ago.
