Carol Vorderman Twitter: Countdown star ‘blushes’ after receiving surprising gift

Carol Vorderman, 58, tends to keep her followers up to date with her activities and it was no different after the beauty revealed how she received “free food”. Taking to Twitter, the maths whizz told her 391,000 followers: “ALWAYS nice to be nice. “Ordering a takeaway in a Cambridge Curry House last night, had to wait 25 mins for it to be ready so had a glass of wine & a lovely chat with the waiter. “He gave me free food to go with the wine. I asked why, and he said, ‘Because you’re nice’… I blushed.”(sic)

Fans rushed to comment on the post with one person agreeing with the waiter: “I can concur Ms V. You are indeed nice.”

Not shying away from the compliment, Carol replied: “Awwww x.”(sic)

Another person mused: “Indeed it is nice to be nice, the waiter seems a lovely guy. I would have definitely given you some free food, just to keep you there lol.”(sic)

While a third person quipped: “A beautiful woman like yourself gets free food to go with your meal, I’d get a shrug of the shoulders.”

Meanwhile, the former Countdown favourite responded to another fan after they revealed her “biggest fan” had died.

The presenter took the opportunity to give her condolences and admitted she was saddened by the news.

The social media user took to the site and wrote: “My partner’s grandad sadly passed on Valentine’s Day.

“Bert used to write into Countdown every single week because he was @carolvorders biggest fan…so we are now the proud owners of this beautiful gem.”

The user referred to a framed photo of the brunette beauty in the early years of her time on the Channel 4 show, which was signed by the star.

Carol responded to the heartfelt post and wrote: “Awww I’m so sad to hear that Bert has passed…genuinely.”

They replied: “Thanks Carol.”

The age-defying beauty rose to fame on the Channel 4 show Countdown as the mathematician on the hit programme.

She appeared alongside host Richard Whiteley until his death in 2005.

Carol remained a part of the show until she departed in 2008 and has since been replaced with Rachel Riley.

Since then the star has gone on to host shows, Loose Women, ITV’s Lorraine and the Pride of Britain Awards.
