Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp told Reds fans to CALM DOWN against Bayern Munich at Anfield

The passionate German is always an animated figure on the touchline but he struggled to keep things in check in the early stages of the game.

There were a few tense moments as Bayern Munich pressed high.

It’s not often a team comes to Anfield and plays on the front foot immediately.

Alisson misplaced a pass before unconvincingly coming to punch a cross.

And the nerves of anxiety from The Kop spread to the field.

The Brazilian was forced into a superb reaction save to stop a ricochet from Joel Matip going in at the wrong end.

Moments later the £65million signing was hesitant on the ball again, inviting Kingsley Coman to shut him down.

The home supporters let their feelings be known, shouting at the goalkeeper as if to tell him to just get rid of it.

But the response was not gratefully by Jurgen Klopp.

He turned to the bank of supporters right besides his dugouts and told them to calm down.

The fiery exchange was matched with a hand gesture, which suggested he wanted encouragement as opposed to negativity.

After that, it seemed to calm down at the back.

Liverpool began to play on the front foot through the likes of Naby Keita and Georginio Wijnaldum.

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane came close to opening the scoring but both panicked in front of goal.
