Laura Whitmore: TV presenter loves matte lipstick and reveals other beauty secrets

Which beauty products do you swear by?

I have dehydrated skin from travelling so much, so I use The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-in Moisture Sleeping Mask a few times a week. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer is great, too.

What are your essential cosmetics?

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick in Red Carpet Red. I love matte lipsticks that are long-lasting and this one doesn’t dry out your lips.

Do you wear make-up every day?

I’ve learned that I need to give my skin a break when I can. I use Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes mascara or some Becca Aqua Luminous Perfecting Concealer for down days.

Do you have a top beauty tip?

Pack a face mask for a long-haul flight. When else would you have that much time to sit and let a mask soak into your face?

What is your signature fragrance?

Flower Of Immortality by Kilian. It has floral notes and just smells delicious!

Which women do you think are beautiful?

I’m lucky to be surrounded by friends who are beautiful inside and out. I’m also a huge fan of icons like Brigitte Bardot.

How long do you spend getting ready for a night out?

If I’m getting myself ready, super quick. For red carpet, I’m lucky to have a team who do a much better job than I ever could.

Is there a part of your body you would change?

All of it! That’s how most women feel, isn’t it? But there’s more acceptance of your body as you grow older. It’s okay that we’re all different.

How do you stay in shape?

Exercise is really important for my mental wellbeing. I love going for a run, and I’m also a massive fan of hot yoga, which I do regularly.

Do you diet?

I have no time for fad diets. I haven’t eaten red meat for 18 years, though, and I also try to eat organic food as much as possible and use non-dairy milk. I snack on almonds and always make sure I have some with me. I hate being hungry. I don’t think being healthy has to be complicated.

Who is your favourite designer?

I love flying the flag for Irish designers like Joanne Hynes, Simone Rocha, Natalie B Coleman, Lennon Courtney and Helen Steele.

Do you shop on the high street, too?

I love the high street – Zara is always reliable. My favourites are The Kooples, Sandro, Maje and Bimba Y Lola.

How do you pamper yourself?

With a bubble bath and a glass of wine. That cures most things!
