Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt BACK TOGETHER? Brad and Jen 'in regular contact for year'

Fans of the couple were ecstatic to see the pair reunite at her bash which attracted A-listers, including Gwyneth Paltrow, George and Amal Clooney, Kate Hudson and her Friends co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow. There are rumours Brad and Jen “hugged and briefly talked” at the party, but pals close to the pair reveal they have been in regular contact for more than a year.

A US insider told New magazine: “Brad and Jen have been back in regular contact for well over a year.

“They never lost touch completely, but their friendship was a sore point for their exes so it had to be under the radar.”

According to one source Brad put in an effort to attend to show his support to his ex-wife.

An insider said: “They’ll usually check in once or twice a week.

“If Jen sees Brad’s had a break with a project she’ll text him congrats and likewise, he’ll seek her advice as well as offer support and encouragement about career stuff.

“They’ll talk about personal things, too, and Jen’s been extremely supportive during his battles with Angelina.

“He’s only really leant on a few close trusted people, and she’s one of them. They’ve met up a few times for dinner and occasionally with mutual friends.”

The couple were married from 2000 and 2005 after they met in 1998 when they were set up by their agents.

They tied the knot in a lavish Malibu wedding which concluded with a fireworks display.

However their relationship broke down in 2004, after Brad met Angelina Jolie on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith.

The actress later revealed she fell for Brad while filming the movie.

She told Vogue: “Because of the film we ended up being brought together to do all these crazy things, and I think we found this strange friendship and partnership that kind of just suddenly happened.

“I think a few months in I realised, ‘God, I can’t wait to get to work.’ Whether it was shooting a scene or arguing about a scene or gun practice or dance class or doing stunts – anything we had to do with each other, we just found a lot of joy in it together and a lot of real teamwork.

“We just became kind of pair. And it took until, really, the end of the shoot for us, I think, to realise that it might mean something more than we’d earlier allowed ourselves to believe.

“And both knowing that the reality of that was big thing, something that was going to take a lot of serious consideration.”

However Jen revealed a few years after the divorce was finalised that these comments by Angelina had hurt her.

She also told Vogue: “There was stuff printed there that was definitely a time when I was unaware that it was happening.

“I felt those details were a little inappropriate to discuss. That stuff about how she couldn’t wait to get to work every day? That was really uncool.”
