Anthony Davis: Lakers target SLAMMED by NBA expert for New York Knicks claim

Bill Simmons, of The Ringer, claimed that the Knicks are a ‘train wreck’ and have been for 10 years.

Over the weekend, Davis appeared at the NBA All-Star weekend and spoke to media about his trade request.

Originally, Davis was reported to have told the New Orleans Pelicans that he wanted to move to one of four teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, the LA Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks and the Knicks.

But last Saturday, he admitted that all 29 teams in the NBA were on his list.

He admitted that the Knicks were ‘a great franchise’, much to the surprise of many fans considering their 11-47 record this season and their long history of failure.

Simmons, however, slammed Davis’ claims and suggested that he should be looking to move elsewhere.

“The Knicks are an awful franchise,” he said on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

“You could say ‘I’d love to play in New York, because MSG [Madison Square Garden] is awesome and they have incredible fans’.

“That’s it. That’s the case for the Knicks.

“Everything else in their franchise is a train wreck.

“They’ve been a train wreck for two decades.

“I counted up today, they’ve won four finals games total since 1973. Games. That’s got to be bottom five lowest in history.

“They’ve had 12 coaches in 17 years, they traded their franchise player just now who is 22 years old and on a rookie contract.

“They traded him for cap space. That happened.

“They’re just really bad. They’re the most paranoid organisation. It’s an absolute s*** show.”
