Fortnite 2FA gifting bonus gone but fans can still enable and Boogie Down

The latest Fortnite 2FA bonus has gone, following a limited time offer from Epic Games.

For a short period, players could enable 2FA in Fortnite Battle Royale and then use the gifting system.

The Gifting system was offering the chance of sending a friend the new Heartspan Glider.

Friends could send the item to each other until midnight today, and the new item appears to have been removed from the Fortnite Shop.

But even with that reward gone from the game, Fortnite fans can still enable 2FA and Boogie Down.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a great way to protect your account and offers a secondary layer of protection.

And if you have never used it before, you can earn a special cosmetic prize for your troubles.

The Boogie Down emote is still available to everyone who enables 2FA, with other stuff included for Save the World players.

STW fans can grab these items if they enable 2FA on their Epic Games accounts – 50 Armory Slots, 10 Backpack Slots and 1 Legendary Troll Stash Llama.

It’s not a bad haul and well worth going through the process if you haven’t done so already.

HOW TO ENABLE 2FA

Enabling 2FA is a little fiddly but pretty straight forward if you do it through the official Epic Games website.

It will also involve using an additional code when you sign in, with only two existing processes available.

This includes using an email account – which will need to be verified – or a third-party authenticator app.

Signing into the official Epic Games site and going to the settings menu is the first step.

In your Account Settings, click on the PASSWORD & SECURITY tab to view your security settings.

At the bottom of the page, under the TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION heading, click to ENABLE AUTHENTICATOR APP or ENABLE EMAIL AUTHENTICATION as your two-factor method.

Here’s more from Epic Games, who explain: “Once you’ve opted into Two-Factor Authentication, you will be asked to enter the code from your preferred two-factor authentication method, then you will be signed into your account.

“You will be prompted for the two-factor passcode the first time you sign in after enabling the feature, if you use a new device if it’s been over 30 days since you last signed in or if you’ve cleared your browser cookies recently.”

Having followed these steps, your account should be updated with the Boogie Down emote and the bonuses exclusive to Save the World, if you own that game.

The Handspan Glider may have been removed from the item shop, but that doesn’t mean Epic Games won’t add something new to Season 8.

And if they do add another gifting item, you will need 2FA enabled to use it.

Nothing has been confirmed yet for Season 8, but with Apex Legends now offering some serious competition, more stuff could be coming our way from Epic Games.
