Dornan starred opposite Dakota Johnson in the steamy trilogy, which concluded this time last year with Fifty Shades Freed. He will soon be seen in the movie Untogether; a relationship drama in which he co-stars with Jemima Kirke. Kirke appeared on a US chat show this week to talk about the movie – and had the audience in hysterics as she spoke about one of their sex scenes.
“I’ve done Girls scenes, which are not the easiest sex scenes to do,” she told Busy Tonight of her previous role on the TV smash Girls.
“But in terms of how [Dornan] looks… I’d never been in that situation with someone. I’m not familiar with… someone who looks like that!
“So I had to really… I had to do a lot of work! Because he looks like a sculpture!”
She added: “It wasn’t intimidating until he did this one part, where he’s supposed to go down on me.
“And I was like… [startled] ’oh my God!’ Like… ‘WOW!’
“There was no… it was close!”
It seems Dornan has become adept at making sex scenes look convincing – and as the audience roared with laughter, Kirke revealed that she knew where he’d got the practise.
“I was like, ‘of course! Fifty Shades. He knows what he’s doing.’”
Untogether does not currently have a UK release, but Dornan’s fans can soon see him in something very different indeed.
A Private War, about the war journalist Marie Colvin, sees him playing Paul Conroy; a project he recently said left him in tears every day.
He stars alongside Rosamund Pike in the drama, which has picked up strong reviews.
