Apex Legends server status: Respawn confirm PS4, Xbox and PC update

The dev team behind Apex Legends has confirmed that a new server update is being released today.

The maintenance is scheduled to begin at around midnight in the UK and isn’t expected to impact playtime.

Unlike in the past, today’s maintenance will not require Apex Legends servers to go offline on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

So players should be able to progress without facing trouble with connection to servers.

“Hey everyone, we’re going to be making some updates to our servers starting at 4:40pm PST,” a message from Respawn Entertainment reads.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

“We don’t expect any effect on players while this is being done, and we’ll update you all if any issues come up.

Players have reported a few issues today with getting stuck during the server connection process.

However, this appears to be connected to an unrelated issue, as today’s server update process has not begun.

Respawn has not shared what today’s server maintenance is connected to and if there will be any patch notes.

As this sounds like a backend change being made by the support team, it seems unlikely we’ll hear more about it, unless issues do arise.

The update could have something do with the large player numbers that were recently confirmed by CEO Vince Zampella.

He told fans over the weekend: “In 72 hours, over 10 million players have jumped into Apex Legends and we’ve breached 1 million concurrent players.

“This has been a truly incredible journey. We tested and tweaked. We argued and agreed. We got to a point where we felt some magic.

“We knew it would be risky to take the franchise in this direction, to go free to play, and do a surprise launch.

“But we fell in love with Apex Legends and wanted, needed, other people to play it too.”

So the need for a backend update might be crucial to keep Apex Legends ticking over the way it should.
