iPhone X returns to the Apple Store but should you get one instead of the iPhone XR?

The iPhone X heralded a new era of the Apple smartphone with an all-screen design.

The flagship debuted back in 2017 but still remains one of the best smartphones around thanks to its premium design and fast performance.

iPhone X comes with a 5.8-inch AMOLED display that has the resolution of 1125×2436 and a density of 458-pixels-per-inch.

The handset was the first iPhone to come with a notch at the top of its panel that housed its intricate Face ID system.

Face ID provides Apple fans with a new way to unlock their device and remains the most secure of its kind.

iPhone X is powered by Apple’s last-generation A11 Bionic chipset that outclasses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 in benchmarks.

The processor means the iPhone X still delivers rapid performance across Apple’s iOS operating system.

Apple sold the iPhone X on its online store until its successors, the iPhone Xs and Xs Max were released.

After such time, the first all-screen phone from the American tech giant was no longer available to purchase.

However, the phone has now reappeared on the Cupertino-based firm’s store and is being sold in its refurbished section.

Apple is currently selling the iPhone X with 64GB of storage for £769 which the company claims marks a saving of £130 from its original retail price.

The iPhone X model with 256GB of memory is also available, coming in at £899.

The starting price of the device makes it more expensive than the iPhone XR with the same amount of storage.

Deciding which iPhone to purchase will depend on how much Apple fans care about the quality of the display offered.

The iPhone X comes with an AMOLED panel, meaning colours are more vibrant and blacks are deeper.

Moreover, the resolution is also higher.

In contrast, the iPhone XR comes with a 6.1-inch LCD display that is not quite as pleasing to look at.

However, the trade-off for getting the iPhone XR is the fact it comes with a faster processor and a better main camera.

iPhone XR is powered by Apple’s newer A12 Bionic chipset, meaning the device is sure to offer better performance in the long term than the X.

The iPhone XR is slightly cheaper than the iPhone X, starting at £749 for the model with 64GB of memory.

While both are incredibly capable devices, those that want to ensure they have the most premium design and display possible on an iPhone should purchase last year’s model.

However, those that want faster internals and a better camera should opt for the newer iPhone variant.
