The Nintendo Switch is going from strength to strength. Nintendo’s hybrid games console sold an incredible 20 million units in the first half of 2018 alone. And some of the Switch’s success is surely due to the availability of many great free games for Nintendo’s device.
The Nintendo Switch does not come cheap, costing £320 in the UK ($300 in the US).
And many players feel compelled to shell out an extra £55 ($70) for the fancy Switch Pro Controller.
This may make you disinclined to spend any more money on expensive Nintendo Switch games.
Fortunately there are some great games on the Nintendo Switch available for free.

Fortnite, the biggest game out right now is completely free-to-play and is totally at home on the Switch.

Kitten Squad:
Kitten Squad is a top-down, twin-stick shooter that has you and up to three feline friends team up to save various forms of wildlife.
The surprisingly playable game is brought to you by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)
Warframe:
Warframe is an online co-op shooter set in space, featuring suits packed with awesome abilities.
Warframe is applauded for its melee and weapons-based combat as well as for its constant flow of new, free content.
Dawn of the Breakers:
Gacha games are usually exclusive to mobile, however, Dawn of the Breakers is unique as it is only available on the Nintendo Switch.
Dawn of the Breakers is an anime-style brawler with heavy inspiration from Power Rangers.
Arena of Valour:
This game is perfect for any fan of the Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) genre.
If you have played Arena of Valour on mobile before, you will be pleasantly surprised by how much better the controls are on the Switch.
Brawlhalla:
Sometimes considered the free version of Super Smash Bros, Brawlhalla is a free-to-play platform fighter.
This game has a good roster of characters to choose from with traditional RPG-style character designs.
Paladins:
There are few free console shooters, and Paladins is definitely the best among them.
Paladins is a team-based shooter, similar to Overwatch or Team Fortress 2.
