Klay Thompson: Los Angeles Lakers fans give demand to Golden State Warriors star

The Lakers played the Warriors on Saturday night at the Oracle Center, but there were a lot of Lakers fans in attendance.

The Warriors hosted the Lakers at the Oracle Center in the Bay Area, but there were a lot of Lakers fans in attendance.

And they certainly made themselves heard as Thompson stepped up to the free throw line in the first half.

As he prepared to take the throw, Lakers fans started chanting “We want Thompson! We want Thompson!”

The Warriors star will become a free agent at the end of this season and is reportedly one of the trade targets for the Lakers.

Thompson is seen as a potential second star to LeBron James, especially if they are unable to score a trade for Anthony Davis.

Whilst the star has given no indication that he wants to leave, it is still possible that he could do so.

However, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, he will consider the Lakers on the condition that they sign Anthony Davis first.

Speaking on SportsCenter, he explained if the Warriors don’t give him a max salary deal, he will look elsewhere.

“The best-case scenario for the Lakers is that they add Anthony Davis and then Golden State doesn’t offer Klay Thompson a max contract,” he said.

“They try to get Klay to take a little bit less than the max.

“And if that happens, I’m told Klay’s attention will be on the Lakers if they have Anthony Davis.”

Despite the Lakers fans clearly wanting Thompson to join, the star said in August that he didn’t have any intention to leave.

“I’ve said it many times before, I would like to be a Warrior for life,” he said.

“Contract negotiations are way down the line. But I think we all have the same interest.

“I would love to be here for the rest of my career… I’m going to be a free agent in 2019.

“Number one on my list would obviously be to stay with the Warriors.”
