Kevin Durant to LEAVE Golden State Warriors: NBA star hints at move with Lakers linked

The NBA superstar has a player option on a contract extension for next year, but it is widely expected that he will instead choose to become a free agent and listen to offers.

Among his likely destinations are the LA Clippers, the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.

The superstar admitted to Yahoo Sports that he would be doing what he could to get as much money as possible in free agency this summer, but did not rule out staying with the Warriors.

Durant moved from the Oklahoma City Thunder to the Warriors in 2016 after the Cleveland Cavaliers came back from 3-1 down in the NBA finals to beat Golden State in game seven.

And since then, he has faced criticism from those who state that he needs to go to a team that isn’t already winning in order to prove his credentials.

The Knicks traded Kristaps Porzingas on Friday in an attempt to clear up salary cap space for the summer.

It is believed that they believe they will be able to convince Durant to switch Golden State for the Big Apple.

And Durant gave a big hint on Sunday as he took to social media.

His fans reacted badly to an article from Mercury News on Sunday, which suggested that Durant had switched off from what goes on on-court in recent weeks.

And Durant got involved in the discussion by liking some of the replies to the article defending him.

But one that he liked got quite a bit of attention.

User @Lightiining wrote: “The media seems more worried about this than the actual team. Stop bothering him about it and let him leave in peace.”

Durant liked, and then un-liked this tweet.

Immediately after it was noted that he liked the tweet, fans began speculating that it was the Warriors star’s way of hinting that he would in fact leave this summer.

Durant will confirm whether he will become a free agent or not on July 1.
