Overwatch developer Blizzard has given fans a special surprise, as a new map comes to the game.
Unveiled alongside a brand new update, the brand new Paris map is currently only playable in the public test region (PTR) on PC.
The Paris map doesn’t have an official release date, but all signs point towards a Valentine’s Day launch on PS4 and Xbox One.
That’s based on a tweet sent out to promote the new Paris map by Blizzard.
Featuring a poster describing Paris as the city of love, the tweet reads: “Chance encounters lead to novel beginnings. Get whisked away to Paris soon on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.”

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
With maps typically spending 2-3 weeks in testing, a Valentine’s Day launch seems like a very real possibility.
Major Overwatch updates also have a tendency to go live on Tuesdays or Thursdays, so a February 12 release date is also possible.
According to the official map description, Paris is an Assault map with plenty of shops and side alleys.
“Paris, an elegant city of art and romance, is the home of our newest Assault map,” Blizzard reveals.
“Begin your journey at the Cabaret Luna, where the velvety alto voice of preeminent diva Luna charms movie stars, revolutionaries, locals, and tourists alike.
“After the encore, step outside to see the sights and seize victory. Artisanal shops line the streets as you approach the first point, so duck in to sample a macaron or escape enemy fire.
“Battle through alleys and corridors before clashing with your foes on the banks of the Seine. Once you establish dominance over your adversaries, make your way to Maison Marat and deliver the coup-de-grâce.”
The map launches during the Overwatch Lunar New Year event for 2019.
The Year of the Pig in-game event runs for roughly three weeks, ending on February 18.
As with all Overwatch events, it’s a chance to pick up some new skins and play a limited game mode.
New skins include the Lu Bu Reaper skin, the Huang Zhong Hanzo outfit, the Guan Yu Reinhardt costume and the Zhuge Liang Zenyatta unlockable.
