Susanna Reid was joined on the ITV morning show Good Morning Britain by co-hosts Ben Shepherd and Kate Garraway, when she recalled singer Justin Bieber, 24, following her on Twitter. The 48-year-old presenter said the Sorry hitmaker had piqued her interest after he followed her on social media and decided to send him a direct message live on air. She said: “I thought I might DM him [Justin] this morning.” But there was a minor problem as she revealed the superstar has 105 million Twitter followers and is following 300,000 on his account.
Ben chimed in: “So you’re going to have to do something really eye-catching on the DM.”
Despite being told to do a “catchy” message, the brunette beauty sent a DM saying: “Morning, how are you doing?”
Co-star Ben interjected: “It is a little bit creepy.”
Opening the discussion on all things Justin, the ITV star revealed the moment the singer caught her attention.
Susanna said: “I have to say, I remember the moment Justin Bieber followed me on Twitter. And I realised that I could DM him, if I wanted to.”
To which Ben Shepherd quipped: “What, be his gran? Is that what you were going to say?”
Kate was seemingly surprised by the host’s admission as she mused: “Wow!”
Susanna was obviously not impressed with her co-stars’ cheeky jibe about her age, and replied: “His gran? No I wasn’t going to say that.”
Ben quickly apologised but she hinted she slightly agreed with him as she added:“But maybe that’s what he was thinking!”
The morning host may have to wait some time for a reply form Justin after the Canadian str recently got married to model Hailey Baldwin, 21, in a low-key ceremony.
Meanwhile, Susanna is in a new romance with Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.
The couple were pictured last week watching a football match with her man on her day off.
Sitting in the stands at Selhurst Park, the couple watched their team Crystal Palace beat Tottenham Hotspur in the fourth round match of the FA Cup.
Earlier this week, Susanna stepped out of the ITV studio this morning to present a segment with Piers Morgan for Good Morning Britain.
The television presenter showcased her toned pins in a beautiful red dress from Oasis which she teamed with a double-breasted coat in a camel colour.
She elongated her tanned legs with a pair of stylish red pumps from Zara which she co-ordinated with scarlet nails and lipstick.
