Jennifer Lopez diet: What J.Lo eats on no-sugar no-carb diet

Jennifer Lopez, 49, has just completed a 10-day stint of cutting out carbs and sugar. The actress and her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez, 43, committed to the challenge together and upon completion the pair looked incredible. In her latest Instagram story she said: “It’s day 10, we did it, we’re here. We still have the rest of the day, but I’m feeling pretty good that we can finish.” J.Lo also said the challenge hadn’t been easy.

“Alex and I have struggled through. Anybody who stuck with us through the whole 10-day challenge, congratulations.”

In a video shared a week before their challenge came to an end, J.Lo’s boyfriend said he “couldn’t wait” to eat some buffalo wings.

He told Instagram fans: “I can’t want to eat a huge pizza and buffalo wings when this is over.”

Jennifer also admitted to feeling “hungry all the time”.

She said on Instagram Stories: “So it turns out, when you don’t have sugar and you don’t have carbs, you’re really hungry all the time.”

J.Lo later showed fans her favourite snacks on the diet were cucumbers, red peppers, yellow peppers, tuna poke, teen beans, canned tuna, and sugar-free jelly.

The star later asked friend and TV presenter Hoda Kotb if she would join in the challenge, before requesting a number of her other friends get involved.

According to Women’s Health, the kind of diet J-Lo and Hoda might have followed included a variety of foods.

Today nutritionist Joy Bauer’s recommended meal plan for the 10 day challenge:

  • Breakfast: Two low-carb quiche biscuits with bacon and chives, and sliced avocado or tomatoes.
  • Snack: Celery sticks with nut butter.
  • Lunch: Salad with grilled chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, artichoke hearts, and carrots.
  • Snack time: Sliced turkey rolled around bell pepper sticks and dipped in mustard, salsa, or hot sauce.
  • Dinner: A one-sheet pan meal of Mediterranean shrimp and charred vegetables.

The nutritionist also advised those looking to cut out carbs and sugar have nuts, seeds, nut butters or non-starchy vegetables, when they’re in need of a snack.

Four days into the challenge, as she adjusted to a diet without carbs and sugar, J.Lo shared a picture of her abs with her 85.7 million followers.

She said: “Day 4 and feeling a little better. Who’s with me? #10daychallenge #NoCarbsNoSugar.”

The pop star looked amazing in the snap, showing off a chiselled six pack.

Wearing a blue crop top an gym leggings, Jennifer’s honed physique garnered hundreds of comments from impressed fans.
