Google Chrome has been upgraded again and this is what's new

Google Chrome is the American tech giant’s web client that is hugely popular.

The browser is the most harnessed on desktops and mobile devices across the globe, meaning it surpasses the likes of Microsoft Edge, Safari and Firefox in terms of monthly users.

Google regularly updates Chrome, bringing new features and improvements for fans.

The latest of which alters how Chromecasts can be set up using the browser and changes how its settings menu functions.

The new version of Chrome, 72, has removed the option of setting up a Chromecast on desktop versions of the browser, as noted by 9to5Google.

Instead, Google is pushing fans towards taking advantage of its Home software to perform such a function.

Previously on Chrome, users were able to type in “chrome://cast” into their URL and were presented with a host of options for setting up a Chromecast.

It is worth noting Chrome fans are still able to connect to Chromecast-enabled devices in order to showcase web tabs or stream audio and video via the browser.

Settings in Chrome have been altered thanks to a new tab for autofill that allows the user to change “passwords”, “payment methods” and addresses that are saved on the browser.

Chrome version 72 has also arrived for Android fans and brings a number of changes in its own right.

One of the biggest is with regard to incognito tabs.

Now, when a user is playing audio from a web page in incognito mode, the Android notification shade will no longer display details about the site in question.

Instead it will simply state an incognito tab is responsible for the audio.

If users are not in incognito mode, their notification shade will feature relevant artwork and name the site that is playing the audio.

Chrome version 72 has started rolling out on both Android devices and desktops.
