Everton transfer news: PSG GIVE UP in pursuit of Idrissa Gana Gueye, he will stay

The Ligue 1 leaders appeared to unsettle the Senegal international.

Gueye handed in a transfer request after PSG had a £21.5million bid rejected.

Marco Silva left the midfielder out of the squad for the 1-0 win at Huddersfield.

He insisted that the former Aston Villa man was suffering from a groin injury.

And Silva won’t have to sweat in the final hours of deadline day, because according to ESPN PSG have now ended their interest in the star.

There had been growing unrest that the Toffees were set to lose Gueye who was keen on a move to Paris.

“We tried to be honest with all of you and with our fans. After the match I tried to find out if something new has happened because I expected your question and there’s nothing new,” Silva said after Richarlison’s goal on Tuesday saw them climb to eighth in the table.

“He has a minor problem with his groin. No new offers and hopefully he can continue with us.

“I don’t know about a new offer or not. Nobody has told me. We were in the hotel last night preparing for the game, fully focused on the match.

“I know the market is open until January 31, it’s always tough for us, but about the new offer, £30million, nothing came true.

“I asked 10 minutes ago if there was something new, but there is not.”

Everton could still be active before the window closes.

Multiple sources have linked the Merseyside club with a move for Michy Batshuayi.

The Belgian has had offers from West Ham and Real Betis.

Batshuayi has spent the season on loan at Valencia but is now seeking an exit from the Spanish club.

Everton would be unable to loan Batshuayi seeing as they already have Kurt Zouma on loan from the Blues.
