Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 have received the Samsung update UK fans have been waiting for

Galaxy Note 9 and the Galaxy S9 are Samsung’s most premium smartphone offerings that released in August and March last year respectively.

Both handsets are still extremely capable thanks to their vibrant displays, high-quality cameras and fast processors.

When both flagships launched they arrived pre-installed with Android 8 Oreo but Samsung has since announced both are being upgraded to Google’s latest and greatest software, Android 9 Pie.

This month owners of both flagships across the globe have insisted they had received a prompt telling them the new software was available to download.

However, until now UK owners had not received such an alert.

But a new report from SamMobile has insisted such an upgrade is now arriving for UK Note 9 owners.

Moreover, can confirm UK Galaxy S9 and S9+ phones can also now download Android 9 Pie.

This publication was able to get the new operating system on our S9+ device over the weekend, suggesting all UK fans can now take advantage of it.

Android 9 Pie on Samsung devices runs the firm’s new One UI skin on top it.

Announced at the South Korean tech giant’s developer conference last year, One UI aims to make navigating on larger devices easier overall.

Samsung has attempted to accomplish this by positioning the majority of app content towards the middle and bottom of device displays.

Discussing One UI, Samsung said: “One UI helps you focus on what really matters to you. With hardware and software working together in harmony, see only what you need, using and viewing your phone with an experience that feels second nature. Because it’s the small details that make a big difference.

“One UI changes how you view your phone. Use Night Mode for a comfortable experience in the dark. And with clear and intuitive visuals, you don’t have to give it a second thought.”

One UI also brings a substantial aesthetic upgrade for Samsung fans to look forward to.

Icons and applications themselves have been updated to look more contemporary overall.

Moreover, One UI also brings a new dark mode that should improve device battery life in addition to delivering a visual upgrade.

Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 owners can download Android 9 Pie by heading to their device’s settings menu, if a relevant notification has not already appeared.

From there the software update tab should be pressed.

The device in question should then present the user with an alert stating the new operating system can be downloaded.
