Donald Trump's motorcade involved in CRASH – Police officer and pedestrian injured

The incident happened after a protester jumped in front of Trump’s motorcade, and a uniformed Secret Service officer started to confront him, at which point both were struck by one of the vehicles, according to Russia Today. The Secret Service has not yet commented on the incident. However, Ami Magazine tweeted: “An eyewitness tells @JakeTurx that a police officer got hurt in the process.”

Mr Trump is not believed to have been hurt in the incident, which occured at 2.30pm EST.

The weekly Jewish magazine, published photographs it claimed were from the scene after it had been cleared.

It added: “One protester was arrested for jumping in front of the motorcade near the 17th and Pennsylvania intersection.

“One law enforcement official was hurt, but accounts differ on what exactly occurred.”

Freelance journalist Sotiri Dimpinoudis tweeted: “#Update: One crazy protestor jumped in front of President @realDonaldTrump Motorcade in Washington, lost control and hit a pole one officer is injured and president Trump driven quickly away.

“The protestor is arrested.”

Mr Dimppinoudis added shortly afterwards: “#Update: Correction – Protestor jumped at the motorcade and a secret service officer was injured by a vehicle while stopping that person.”

Initial reports said at least two people were injured as a result of the accident, including one police officer.
