Kingdom Hearts 3 midnight release news and early launch times

Kingdom Hearts 3 is getting a midnight release in the UK at one special location.

UK retailer GAME has confirmed that they will have at least one location open for the Kingdom Hearts 3 midnight release.

This will be held at their Stratford London store and will also contain a bonus for the first group of players who buy a copy.

“Love Kingdom Hearts? Head to our midnight launch on the 29 January at @GAMEStratford, where the first 200 customers will get a free goodie bag, courtesy of @SquareEnix,” a message from the company confirms.

However, while this one store is confirmed to be holding an event, it doesn’t mean all stores will be doing this.

Anyone interested in finding out should call their local GAME store, with the official retail website adding:

“For midnight launches, stores generally open their doors around 11.45pm and will usually close around an hour later. Depending on demand, your local manager may choose to close earlier or stay open longer.

“Stores open at the discretion of your local manager. This list shows the latest information we have on stores that are taking part in the midnight launch; however, there may be changes.

“To be sure that your store is opening, please check with your local branch on their Twitter page before going out on the night as they will have the latest information.”

As you might expect, this information is only useful for Kingdom Hearts fans in the UK, with no GAME stores currently operating in the United States.

For those Kingdom Hearts fans in the US, Gamestop is hosting early releases for the game.

The Express has doubled-checked, and Gamestop stores will be releasing Kingdom Hearts 3 at 9pm, store local time.

Fans should call their local Gamestop beforehand and find out for themselves, but it appears this has been set up nationwide.

This means that Kingdom Hearts fans can grab a copy from inside the store and dash home to start installing.

So in the United States, it’s possible to receive an early release of the game on January 28.

The game itself will be available digitally for those in the UK on January 29.

The Xbox Store does list the game going live at around midnight in the United States, meaning the same deal might be in place for those gamers in the UK.

However, another listing on the Microsoft Store states that digital copies will go live at 2am, so it’s hard to know for certain just when everything will go live.

The Disney and Square Enix mash-up made its debut at E3 2013, where it was shown during the Sony conference.

It’s said to be the biggest entry yet – which isn’t surprising considering how long it’s been in development – reportedly taking between 40-50 hours to complete.

Venturing off the beaten path and exploring the game’s secrets could potentially take that number up to 80 hours.
