And fans were quick to make their point on social media as Universal Champion Brock Lesnar famously botched the move earlier in his career.
Lesnar landed on his neck when performing the move against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XIX.
WWE fans on social media quickly trolled the UFC icon after seeing Shane O’Mac hit the move.
One tweeted: “Shane McMahon just out-did Brock Lesnar’s Shooting Star Press.”
“Truly the Best in the World!”
Another one said: “After that Shooting Star Press, Shane McMahon can now forever say there’s something he does better than Brock Lesnar.”
A third explained: “For a non active wrestler Shane McMahon just hit a picture perfect shooting star press. Take notes Brock Lesnar. #RoyalRumble.”
A fourth exclaimed: “Who would have thought there was a wrestling move Shane McMahon could do better than Brock Lesnar #royalrumble.”
Shane McMahon and The Miz beat Cesaro and Sheamus to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
And it completes their journey to the gold after Shane won the World Cup tournament months ago.
Rumours have speculated it could be a short-lived reign though and the two could face off at WrestleMania.
But another option is they could defend their titles at MetLife Stadium on April 7.
There are a number of tag teams they could face with the likes of The Usos, The New Day and The Bar all on SmackDown.
Shane and The Miz will be sure to celebrate this Tuesday night on the blue brand.
