Dancing on Ice 2019: Will Holly and Phil apologise to Gemma Collins?

Will Holly and Phil apologise to Gemma Collins?

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are yet to issue a public apology to Gemma Collins following their comments on This Morning.

The Dancing on Ice presenters had spoken out on Gemma’s off-the-ice antics, with Holly saying publicly: “There has to be a bit of professionalism that comes into any work you do.”

Gemma has reportedly since asked for a public apology from Holly and Phil for their damning comments.

Speaking with The Sun Online before the series’ third live show, Gemma said: “I’ve been told on the rumour mill that Phil and Holly have been told off, but a public apology would go a long way.

“I haven’t seen them yet – obviously I’ll see them at the studio, but I’d like an intervention before the show starts.

“We need to find the culprit responsible for giving them this false information,” she added.

As of yet, neither Holly or Phil has come forward to make a public apology, and the trio appeared to have put the comments behind them when they embraced during the live show on Sunday, January 20.

WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN MEGAN BARTON HANSON AND VANESSA BAUER?

Phillip Schofield has publicly rubbished the claims he and Holly were “told off” by ITV bosses, however.

Speaking at the NTAs, Phil told Radio Times: “No, we weren’t in trouble [for calling Gemma unprofessional] at all.

“What’s lovely is that it’s fantastic telly, it’s great to watch and I am so thrilled that Gemma is out there and doing it.

“It’s brilliant panto. What you saw on Sunday is when two pantos collide.”

Holly also told the publication: “When we arrive on a Sunday morning, what will be will be.

“That’s why we like live TV, it’s the unpredictability of what’s actually going to happen. The drama unfolds in front of you and you deal with what happens.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Holly and Phil’s representatives for comment.

HOW MUCH ARE DANCING ON ICE 2019 STARS PAID?

Reports of Gemma demanding a public apology from Holly and Phil led to several disgruntled Dancing on Ice fans voicing their opinions on Twitter, with many feeling the presenting duo has little to apologise for.

One fan tweeted: “Why on EARTH would Holly apologise to someone who IS lazy and acting like a brat?! Gemma needs to apologise for being such a spoilt diva.”

A second said: “@thismorning Dear Phil & Holly, please don’t dare apologise to Gemma Collins. She was and is unprofessional Don’t let the entire #thismorning be about her or am turning off for good.”

While a third furiously wrote: “THIS IS NOT THE GEMMA COLLINS SHOW AND IS SPOILING THE SERIES…HOLLY DO NOT PUBLICLY APOLOGISE FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH.”

Gemma hasn’t publicly responded to the lack of an apology from Holly and Phil but has found herself at the centre of another show spat with Dancing on Ice judge Jason Gardiner.

On the live show of Sunday, January 20, Gemma and Jason became embroiled in a heated back-and-forth when the TOWIE star accused the judge of “selling stories” on her.

WILL JAMES JORDAN WIN DANCING ON ICE 2019?

Gemma’s claims were later found to be false, according to The Sun, but it didn’t stop the pair hitting headlines in the aftermath of the row.

Even Gemma’s skating partner Matt Evers had to apologise to Jason on Twitter, after comments he had made to Heart FM the morning after the Dancing on Ice spat.

Matt said to Heart: “She (Gemma) did take Jason’s comment on board, in regards to the skating,

“But when it went into the whole: ‘Don’t sell stories on me’, I just was like: ‘Ohh, I know that’s the truth, and that’s how you feel, but you have to be careful sometimes when you’re live on air’.”

Following the interview, Matt apologised to the judge on Twitter in a statement which read: “Always own up to your mistakes! I just want to say sorry to Jason as today on Heart FM I intimated he sold stories to a newspaper. I totally got my wires crossed and I apologise. It’s been one hell of a 24 hours!”

While Matt has come forward to apologise for his role in the Dancing on Ice feud, neither Jason nor Gemma his public apologised or spoken about the row directly.

Dancing on Ice fans will have to tune in to the next live show on Sunday, January 27 to see how the drama will unfold.

Dancing on Ice continues every Sunday, at 6pm, on ITV.
