James Jordan: ‘I’m in such a bad way’ Dancing on Ice 2019 star reveals 'painful' injury

James Jordan, 40, who has been a favourite to win Dancing On Ice 2019 since it began earlier this month, may have a problem performing tomorrow night’s routine.

The professional dancer, who is paired with skater Alexandra Schauman on the ITV show, took to his Instagram this morning to update fans on his rehearsals.

James filmed himself with the programme’s physio, Sharon, and revealed he’s in “so much pain”.

Talking to the camera, he said: “So I’ve just come into physio.

“I’m in so much pain this week, apparently these things from pure essential, they’re going to wrap my whole body in them because I’m in such a bad way.”

Showing off the patches, which are supposed to help relax and sooth muscular tensions and sensitive joints, James added: “I have no idea what they do.

“But apparently the physio Sharon said they work wonders.”

James’ co-star, Gemma Collins, also had a recent trip to the physio and documented it to her Instagram account.

The Dancing On Ice contestant revealed she’s got a torn rotator cuff and has hurt her knee.

She told her fans: “Since doing Dancing On Ice, “I’ve got a torn rotator cuff and something’s happened to my knees.

“I’ve had to call in the top physio.”

Ahead of the live shows, James told Express.co.uk he has many suffered injuries over the years from his dancing career.

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional revealed he has struggled with arthritis for years and also has damaged his shoulder in the past.

“I’ve got old injuries from dancing like my rotator cuff, and I have arthritis in both my hips,” he divulged.

He explained: “So I can’t lift my leg very high and I can’t open my feet up on the ice.

“There’s a lot of things I’m limited to because of my hips.”

James revealed he has battled with his hip problems for a very long time and said it’s hereditary.

“My sister is 41, she’s one year older than me and she’s just had a hip operation,” he said.

“So I’m putting it off. I don’t want to have it done yet, I just want to wait.”

But the dancer admitted it does have a huge impact on his life, as he added: “It’s so painful, I can’t sleep and everything.”

Dancing On Ice airs on ITV tomorrow night at 6pm.
