Xperia XZ4 unmasked – New leak gives fans ultimate view of what might be coming from Sony

Sony Xperia fans will almost certainly get to see the new XZ4 on Monday, February 25.

That’s the date of the Japanese tech firm’s next big launch event which is taking place in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress.

Although there’s no confirmation of what will be unveiled at MWC all rumours point to Sony unleashing its all-new Xperia XZ4 on the world.

This device could bring some of the most radical changes ever to the Xperia brand with speculation rife that this phone will get a bigger screen, more power and the inclusion of a triple rear camera system.

Although details remain scarce, a new leaked image may give fans the ultimate view of this all-new smartphone and, if true, it looks particularly exciting.

The photo, which has been posted by OnLeaks and MySmartPrice, shows what many have been expecting with the XZ4 getting a trio of rear cameras and an almost fully edge-to-edge display.

This giant 6.5-inch screen looks set to get a 21:9 aspect ratio which could make it much better for watching content such as movies.

It’s not clear how Sony will utilise the new camera setup but, if it follows Huawei, expect this device to take better shots in low light, have an improved zoom and be able to shoot images with a wide-angle lens.

Another thing that seems clear is that Sony could finally move away from the rear fingerprint scanner which was heavily criticised on the XZ2 and XZ3.

Instead of placing this sensor on the rear case, it now seems likely that it will be moved back to the side of the phone – something Sony has done in the past.

Although the photo doesn’t reveal any internal specs Sony will possibly bring the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor to this flagship along with a bigger battery and wireless charging.

Sony’s big event will take place in Barcelona on Monday, February 25, at 7.30am GMT.

Express.co.uk will be in Spain to bring you all news live as it happens with Huawei, Nokia and LG also expected to reveal their new handsets.
