However, she doesn’t get off to the best of starts as the she begins to suffer from withdrawal symptoms as she attempts to get clean.
To make matters worse, she sees Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) play with her daughter Dotty which leaves Dawn thinking about her own child.
Dawn had a son, which was taken into care because of her previous drugs use.
Worried Dawn is not coping very well, Harriet decides to get in contact with social services and organises a meeting.
But, Dawn doesn’t take Harriet’s interfering well and resorts to alcohol to deal with the situation.
As the vicar looks on, Harriet lays into her and tells her she needs to sort herself out or she’s on her own.
Realising she needs to change her ways in order to improve her life, Dawn decides to give the job another go and heads to work.
But she experiences more withdrawal symptoms and has to take a break from packing.
And mentor Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) is quick to ask her new worker if everything is ok.
But will Kerry be a friend or an enemy to Dawn?
