Melania was nominated for her appearance, as herself, in Fahrenheit 11/9. The anti-Trump movie was produced by left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore. Melania goes up against former White House counsellor Kellyanne Conway, who also appeared in Fahrenheit 11/9, in the ‘worst supporting actress’ category.
According to the official Razzies website “First Lady Melania Trump and White House counsellor Kellyanne Conway were nominated for worst supporting actress for being themselves in Fahrenheit 11/9”.
Melania is the first sitting First Lady to ever be nominated for a Razzie.
However she did not participate in the documentary directly, instead being shown in archive footage.
Along with Ms Conway she was the first to be nominated in the “worst supporting actress” category based on a documentary since 2004.

In that year Britney Spears and Condoleeza Rice were nominees based on their appearance in Fahrenheit 9/11, a previous Michael Moore film.
Ms Spears went on to win the satirical award.
Melania and Ms Conway are competing with Marcia Gay Harden, Kelly Preston and Jaz Sinclair in the worst actress category.
President Trump has also received two nominations.
He is on the shortlist for “Worst Actor” based on footage of him appearing in anti-Trump documentaries Death of a Nation and Fahrenheit 11/9.

He was also nominated for “Worst Screen Combo” along with “His Self Perpetuating Pettiness” for his appearances in Fahrenheit 11/9 and Death of a Nation.
The Razzie’s have taken place annually since March 31 1981, as a parody of the Oscars for the worst movie performers.
Winners receive a gold coloured metallic raspberry on top of a historic film reel – although relatively few actually collect them in person.
The winners of this year’s Razzie’s will be announced on February 23.
