Piers Morgan, 53, was speaking with Richard Arnold, 49, on Good Morning Britain who was reporting live from the 02 arena where this evening’s awards show is being held.
Richard showed Piers and Susanna Reid, 48, their seats and the images ITV had decided to use in order to receive the seats.
However, the GMB host was less than pleased when he was shown his image, referring to the picture depicting him as a “serial killer”.
Compared to This Morning host Phillip Schofield’s, 56, image, Piers exclaimed he couldn’t believe the broadcaster had used such an image of him.
The GMB host said: “That’s what ITV does to me right. We finally get up for a big award… Schofield; happy, smily, nice, voteable.

“Me; serial killer. Opened mouthed, horror struck, serial killer. This is what ITV do to us,” Piers ranted.
When Piers and Susanna returned to Richard later on in the show, it was clear the image was playing on the presenter’s mind.
With Richard holding Piers’ picture up, the host commented: “Making look like a serial killer why don’t you.
“Look at that. Unbelievable. Everyone else has a happy smily face,” Piers went on to add before Richard made a joke about the pair spending some time in a steam room the day before.
Explaining that would be the reason his face looked as it did on the picture, Piers replied: “That was the face after I realised you were sitting there.”
However, Piers’ face wasn’t the only rife the host had about the reservation markers as he, Susanna and Charlotte Hawkins, 43, noticed some of their colleagues names were spelt incorrectly.
Telling Piers his reservation marker was better than others, Charlotte added: “At least they spell your name right. Wait until they get to Kate [Garraway].”
After seeing Kate’s, 51, name was spelt incorrectly, Piers remarked: “Well they spelt her name wrong.
“Fantastic, fantastic. This is really going well.”
Ben Shephard’s name was also spelt wrong, as Susanna commented: “Please don’t say they’ve spelt Shepherd with an ‘E’,” but soon realised Ben’s surname was missing an ‘H’.
Piers did take a swipe at Charlotte earlier on in the programme, saying she hadn’t won an award in her life but made a dig about her Strictly Come Dancing partner Brendan Cole, 42, who left the BBC dance show after competing with Charlotte in 2017.
“Hawkins, I don’t want to burst your bubble but you’ve never won anything ever. So, the idea you’re going to presenter of the year here…” Piers said with Charlotte quickly interjecting to say she’d won a BAFTA.
Piers continued: “The only award you’ve won this year is ending Brendan Cole’s career.”
Brendan parted ways with the BBC show in early 2017, after the broadcaster decided not to renew this contract the professional dancer told Lorraine Kelly, 59.
On yesterday’s edition of GMB, Piers Morgan hit out at Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner, 47, after he clashed with Gemma Collins, 37, on Sunday’s show.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
