Fortnite update 7.20 early PATCH NOTES: Sneaky Snowman, downtime NEWS, Medieval Sword

UPDATE: Fortnite developer Epic Games has announced plans to release content update 7.20 on January 22.

As predicted, the new Fortnite update won’t be accompanied by downtime. It goes live at 1pm UK time.

“Keep an eye out,” reads an Epic tweet. “The v7.20 Content Update releases tomorrow, January 22 at 8 AM ET (1300 UTC). No downtime is required.”

According to the early patch notes, small shields will be made to shield availbility, while the Quad Launcher will be vaulted.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

A follow-up to last week’s update, the new patch will add one or two new items, a new LTM and fix some minor issues.

Update 7.20 is expected to launch on January 22. It’s unlikely to require any downtime, so expect the update to go live at midday UK time.

While the size of the update is yet to be revealed, Epic Games has confirmed that a brand new disguise will be added to the game.

Fitting in with the winter theme, content update 7.20 will introduce the Sneaky Snowman.

“Become a master of disguise,” reads the Sneaky Snowman patch notes description.

The new update could also add the Medieval Sword, which was discovered in the previous update files.

The item is believed to be a melee weapon and not a pickaxe, so it’s possible we could be getting a new mythical weapon.

Fans will be hoping it’s not as overpowered as the Infinity Blade, which was heavily criticised last year.

One thing that definitely won’t feature in the new update is a fix to editing issues.

Last week’s update contained the following two changes: “Editing a structure will now begin without waiting for a response from the server. This should cut down on ghost shots before editing and make it a smoother experience.

“Confirming the edit will still require sending data to the server and be impacted by high ping or poor server performance.

But according to an Epic Games post, the fix has been temporarily disabled until next week’s update.

“Unfortunately, due to an issue that was preventing players from being able to shoot after jumping from the Battle Bus, we’ve had to revert that improved functionality,” a Reddit post reads.

“For the time being, editing will now react the same way it did prior to v7.20.”

Epic is also working on fixes for countless Battle Royale issues, including a solution for the ‘Use an X-4 Stormwing plane in different matches’ challenge.
