Jane Danson: Dancing On Ice star’s husband addresses her ‘close proximity’ to pal’s spouse

Jane Danson and Sylvain Longchambon will reveal their second Dancing On Ice 2019 performance this evening, following their debut earlier this month. The Coronation Street favourite’s husband Robert Beck, who she wed back in 2005, has now spoken candidly about their partnership. The 40-year-old’s spouse admitted the fact she is working with someone she already knows is “fantastic”. The ITV professional, 38, has been married to Samia Ghadie, who plays Maria Connor in Corrie, for over two years.

When asked if there any initial awkwardness dancing in close proximity to your best friend’s husband, Jane said there wasn’t.

She told OK! Magazine: “You’re so busy concentrating on the moves and it becomes so formulaic that it doesn’t come into the equation.

“We feel at ease with each other.”

Rob continued: “I’m glad she’s partnered with Sylvain. For Jane to be skating every day with someone she’s friends with already is fantastic.

“I know she’s having a good laugh as well as working hard. He’s such a great guy and they live down the road so any stress of travelling for training has been taken out for them both.”

Meanwhile, during their joint interview, Jane was asked if she was pleased she was teamed up with the Frenchman.

“It’s been really interesting,” she stated. “As we’re friends, but Samia is my best friend who I’ve known longer, so I’ve got to know Sylvain in a different way.

“He hasn’t gone easy on me because we’re friends. He’s a perfectionist and I love watching him dance; he’s really graceful.”

The soap star added: “We’ve had a laugh along the way and it’s great for Samia too, as we’re so close so her vote won’t be split between Sylvain and me now!

“She’s actually come down to training a few times and has shown me how to do certain moves. It’s hard to visualise how a lift goes, so it’s been really helpful seeing her do it.”

Jane is unfortunately currently nearing the top of the odds when it comes to who will be the second to be eliminated from Dancing On Ice.

According to bookmakers, Coral, she is considered the fifth most likely to get the boot tonight with 6-1.

Grease legend Didi Conn has been deemed the most likely to be axed on 11-10, followed by Ryan Sidebottom (7-4), Saira Khan (3-1) and Gemma Collins (7-2).

James Jordan is currently triumphing and is favourite to win the show, with Wes Nelson a close second.

“The early performances suggest that James is streets ahead of any other of the stars but we know just how popular Wes is. That means he’s right behind him in our betting to win the show and it could be a fierce battle,” a spokesperson told Express.co.uk.

Dancing On Ice 2019 continues tonight at 6pm on ITV, while Coronation Street airs tomorrow at 7.30pm on the same channel.
